Paint and Stucco Fire Damage

We just fished up a Job in Long Beach California that had significant fire damage to the stucco and eaves. As you can see much of the stucco has changed colour and been covered with black soot. As a homeowner you want to make sure you repair fire damage such as this as it can lead to further deterioration of the surrounding stucco and can distract from curb appeal.

  1. began by pressure washing the stucco and eaves to get rid of as much of the black soot from the smoke as possible.

  2. Then I scraped any loose stucco and wood that didn’t come off when pressure washing.

  3. Next we re-stuccoed the area that was affected the most by the fire, the heat from the fire caused the stucco and paint to crack and bubble.

  4. primer was crucial for this because of the soot and new stucco that was applied. we used KILZ 3 because the product is a heavy duty stain blocking primer.

  5. last but not least we got our paint match from sherwin-williams for our finish coat. I love using Sherwin-Williams because they are really good at matching paint

We Pressure Washed, scraped then applied new stucco. after stucco dried. we then primed and Painted with two coats of Paint.
