Stonebraker Paints completed an exterior commercial painting project for a new IT office building in Brentwood. This project required extensive preparation, repairs, priming, and commercial-grade paint application to ensure a durable, long-lasting finish.
Proper preparation was a major part of this project. We began with a full pressure wash of the entire building exterior to remove dirt, dust, mildew, and surface contaminants. This step is critical on commercial buildings to ensure proper paint adhesion and prevent premature coating failure.
Next, our team completed several demolition and cleanup tasks to prepare the building for painting. This included removing an old front patio and garden area, demoing a carport awning and steel cage at the rear of the building, and hauling away all debris using a rented trailer. Clearing these elements allowed us to properly repair and coat the exterior surfaces without obstruction.
After demolition, we patched and repaired all holes and damaged areas left behind from previous signage, awnings, and fixtures. All stucco repairs and patched areas were carefully addressed and smoothed out with a float to match the existing stucco texture. Once repairs were complete, we primed all patched areas and exposed surfaces, including stucco repairs and wood components. Proper priming was essential to seal the surfaces, improve adhesion, and ensure consistent color and finish across the building.
We then primed and painted the wood paneling and exterior accents using Sherwin-Williams Black Magic (SW 6991) for a bold, modern look. The stucco exterior was finished with Sherwin-Williams North Star, giving the building a clean, professional appearance. Much of the work was completed using a scissor lift, allowing safe access to all elevations of the building while maintaining consistent quality throughout.
